The Ultimate Guide to an Unforgettable Week in Ayia Napa

Experience seven days filled with adventure, relaxation, and excitement in the Mediterranean’s most vibrant resort.

When you hear “Ayia Napa,” your mind probably jumps to dreamy beaches, turquoise waters, golden sand, and its famous nightlife. Yet this multifaceted destination has so much more to offer. From rich history and culture to outdoor adventures and gastronomy, Ayia Napa has everything you need for a perfect holiday—no matter the season you visit.

Here’s a full seven-day itinerary, ideal for anyone wanting to explore every side of the area:

Day 1 – A Warm Welcome with Beaches and Sunset Walks

Your arrival in Ayia Napa marks the beginning of your summer escape. Once you’ve settled into your accommodation, put on your swimsuit and dive into one of the nearby Blue Flag beaches—Ayia Napa boasts 16 of them! If you’re unsure where to start, try the classics: Nissi Beach, Makronissos, or Pantachou.

In the afternoon, stroll along the picturesque fishing harbor and end up at Georgiou Seferi Square, where the city’s energy peaks.

In the evening, enjoy dinner at one of the many taverns or restaurants in the area—and don’t skip a scoop of ice cream on your way back.

Day 2 – Cultural Exploration and Traditional Atmosphere

No matter how you choose to start your day—beach or hotel pool—set aside time to discover Ayia Napa’s historical identity. Begin with a visit to the Medieval Monastery, a gem of the region.

Just a short walk away, discover the Agrotospito (Rural House), a small folklore museum showcasing everyday Cypriot life in the 19th century.

Walking through the center, you’ll understand why Ayia Napa is considered an open-air museum.

Day 3 – Sea, Art, and Mystery

Time to dive into history and creativity. In the morning, visit the Thalassa Municipal Museum to explore local history and marine life, as well as works from the Famagusta Municipal Art Gallery, which houses pieces by Greek and Cypriot artists saved from the occupied city. Just a few steps away is the old Aqueduct, also worth a visit.

Head toward the harbor to see the Icarus sculpture, then continue along the coastal walkway to the one-of-a-kind MUSAN underwater sculpture museum—one of the Mediterranean’s most unique attractions.

Day 4 – Sea Adventures & Artistic Sunsets

In the morning, book a day cruise to explore the coastline and crystal-clear waters. You’ll see sea caves, the Lovers’ Bridge, Cape Greco National Forest Park, swim in the Blue Lagoon and the Konos Beach, and—if you’re lucky—spot some sea turtles.

Later in the afternoon, don’t miss a life-enhancing experience during the magical sunset hour. Climb to the open-air International Sculpture Park, where art and panoramic views create a unique setting. Next door, the Park of Mediterranean Plants and Cacti adds to the visual delight.

End the day at Lovers’ Bridge, one of the most photographed spots in the region. Just steps away, you can place your own love lock on a nearby bridge. Alternatively, explore the Sea Caves near Cape Greco—a stunning landscape not to be missed!

Day 5 – Escape to the Countryside

Leave the coastal vibe behind and discover the authentic charm of the Famagusta region’s inland areas. Start at the Ayia Napa Marina, continue to the chapel and catacombs of Saint Thekla, and explore the nearby villages:

  • Sotira: Byzantine churches, traditional museums, fields of PDO taro (kolokasi), potatoes, and more.
  • Liopetri: Visit the Liopetri River, Saint George’s Chapel, Panagia Eleousa Church, and the Achyronas EOKA Monument. Stop for a traditional Cypriot coffee at a local café.
  • Avgorou: Potato fields, the Ethnographic Museum, and the impressive CyHerbia Botanical Park & Labyrinth, ideal for all ages.
  • Dasaki Achnas: A dam, wetland, Antelia Bee Park, and the Achna Donkey Park.

Day 6 – Nature and Rejuvenation

Time to discover the Cape Greco National Forest Park, with its walking paths, nature trails and biking trails winding through rare flora and unique landscapes. Then head down to Konnos Beach—one of Cyprus’ most enchanting corners.

Day 7 – Cultural Moments and a Farewell with a View

Your final day in the area. Before you depart, dedicate some time to exploring nearby Paralimni. Walk through the square with its three churches and visit the Traditional House museum. If time allows, stop by Deryneia, Frenaros, or Acheritou/Vrysoulles.

Your last swim belongs to Protaras—make a stop at Fig Tree Bay or other nearby beaches with golden sand and shallow waters. End your trip with a sunset view from Prophet Elias Hill, and light a candle at the chapels of Agia Triada and Saint Nicholas.

A week may seem short, but the experiences, sights, and feelings you’ll take away from Ayia Napa will stay with you for a long time. And each time you return, something new will be waiting to be discovered—because the choices are endless.
